A MUltiple Space and Time scale approach for the quAntification of deep saliNe formations for CO2 storaGe

THE SCIENTIFIC, INDUSTRIAL AND REGULATORY ADVISORY BOARD (SIRAB)

The MUSTANG consortium team will be reinforced by the Scientific, Industrial and Regulatory Advisory Board (SIRAB). The SIRAB includes:

 Scientific advisors
Experts from leading institutions in the field of CO2 storage will act as scientific advisors and their main role will be to participate to the consortium discussion and review of the deliverables that are relevant to their field of expertise.

 Industries and End-users
The industrial advisors will participate to the formulation of the guidelines, to the design of the decision support system to be developed within the frame of MUSTANG and to the dissemination effort. The number of industries in the SIRAB has been limited in order to guarantee an adequate balance between the various stakeholders and to prevent any unwanted bias.

 Regulators
Regulators from different public organisations and agencies are involved in order to keep them well informed about the Mustang foreground and provide assistance in the development of regulatory guidelines.

Care has been taken to judiciously balance the weight of each member in order to protect the project from the natural bias of interests that a large amount of parties driven a similar interest would have brought.

ROLE OF THE SIRAB
 Overall assessment of project: SIRAB group supervises the project execution taking part of the steering committee of the project.

 Assistance in the development of a decision support system (DSS) aiming at encapsulating the data, knowledge, technologies and tools to be developed and/or incorporated in MUSTANG in order to provide a rational path for evaluating the potential of CO2 storage at a considered site at various levels of integration (scientific and engineering levels, and decision making level) and at the four levels of the evaluation (site identification, characterization, injection, post injection).

 Assistance in dissemination tasks, especially by the industrial members which has strong communication and dissemination facilities.
